Family Photos of Todd Orf
John Thomas Dorrough Was Born Jan 1, 1844 in Ceder Town, Polk
County Georgia. In March 1862 he Enlisted in Company D, 21st Georgia
Infantry, "Cedertown Guards". He was discharged in October 24, 1862.
The cause of the discharge was a bad case of measles.
He then re-enlisted March 23, 1863 at Camp Randolph Georgia,in
Company H, 8th Georgia Infantry "Anderson's Brigade" and was wounded
about June 4th 1864.
He was married to Nancy L. Rowe after the war in CederTown, and his
first child 'Joseph Columbus' was born in CederTown 13, December
1869.
John Thomas his wife and child moved to to Houston, Winston County,
Alabama before the second child "Sarah" was born. Two more Children
were Born in Alabama, "Elizabeth" and "Thomas Decater". The latter
July 30, 1873.
The Family Moved to Hackleburg, Alabama. Where Joseph married Anna
Bell Hill, they had a Son "Burter Dorrough" July 4, 1891.

The Family then Moved to the Hurricane Community in Pontotoc
County, Mississippi.
The family settled in and became part of the community. Joseph's
wife "Anna Bell" died, as did John Thomas's wife "Nancy".
John Thomas remarried to Cora Allie Todd, 15 August 1900. Burter
Dorrough came to live with them after his Father "Joseph" Died.
Soon on 13 January 1907, Bertha Modell Dorrough Was born. Berter was
more like an older Brother, than a nephew.
Bertha was spoiled by her father. She was her mothers only child as
well. She lived and grew up in Pontotoc.
John Thomas Dorrough died on 21 August 1922, and was buried at the
Shady Grove cemetery. Bertha and her Mother moved to Plainview
Texas, to be closer to Cora Allie's family "The Todd's". Bertha
married Milton Fletcher, and they had two girls "both living", they
moved to Pueblo Colorado, and Bertha and Milton had 5 grand
children, Milton died in 1980, and Bertha died in 1996. Both are
buried at Bellwood Memorial Park, in Temple, Texas.
